Woody is a World War II veteran with a remarkable history serving in the United States Army in New Guinea from 1942 to 1944. He endured extremely harsh conditions against Japanese during the war. Sadly, most Americans died there in the thousands. But incredibly, Woody was one of the one hundred survivors. His service to the Army came to an abrupt end when he contracted malaria. Clearly, Woody is a fighter and survivor of the highest order!
