Mr. Herve was born in Oakland Beach, Rhode Island. His life has involved a lot of traveling and service, not only to our country but the communities in which he has lived. Mr. Herve proudly served our country as a member of the United States Air Force. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he began delivering mail for the United States Postal Service which he did for over 20 years. Mr. Herve keeps us laughing and always on our toes. He brightens the day of not only the staff but his neighbors in the community as well. He is mindful of those around him and is quick to give recognition to those he feels have earned it. One day while sitting together in our morning current event activity, the discussion of Memorial Day came up. With a tear in his eye Mr. Herve pointed to his neighbor who served in the Marines and said, “I think he is a real hero, he fought for us.” It was a moment that touched our hearts and left an impact that all of our men and women deserve the utmost respect. So Mr. Herve, thank you for being a hero as well and for being such a special part of our community.
