One of the best parts about visiting Autumn Leaves of Denton is catching up with their vibrant community of residents. Denton’s passion for arts, music, and creativity is perfectly reflected in the folks who call Autumn Leaves of Denton home, and no better example of this joie de vivre can be found than in lifelong Denton residents, Lucius and Carolyn! Life Engagement Manager Allison gave us the inside scoop on this adorable pair, and it’s not hard to see why they’re a perfect match.
Carolyn can always be found in her trademark sparkle cowboy hat – we don’t think we’ve ever stopped by for a visit and not seen that hat perfectly 
placed upon her head! We also noticed she’s rarely seen without a certain pair of white boots. In Texas, wearing boots isn’t completely out of the ordinary, but we thought there might be more to the story. And there is – Carolyn was a Kilgore Rangerette! If you’re not familiar with this iconic group of high-kicking Texas women, check out this video of their halftime performance at a Dallas Cowboys game. The Rangerettes perform all over the world and are passionate about representing their home state with pride. As they like to say, “once a Rangerette, always a Rangerette.”
Allison tells us that Lucius has a Master’s of Industrial Arts and used to teach shop. It’s no surprise that he loves to tinker with bits and bobs in his spare time! He and Carolyn were married in 1984 and have been inseparable since, taking great care of each other over the years. They are a match set, walking arm in arm, and can often be found dancing when there’s music playing! We also hear that they especially loved visiting casinos in years past and even hit a pretty big jackpot on one of their trips! Luck may be on their side, but we consider ourselves to be the lucky ones to call Lucius and Carolyn family!
