Often, when we think of Mother’s Day, we focus on the more “traditional” roles. Although, sometimes, there is an undeniable bond that transcends the archetypal parent/child relationship. Here at Autumn Leaves of Glen Ellyn, we’re lucky enough to see one of these special bonds quite often.
Betty has been with us since the beginning. She’s spunky, has a touch of cynical humor, and is always up for “whatever”. There’s a special light in her eyes, though, when her son-in-law Scott walks through the door. For these two, it’s not a typical “visit with the in-laws” – but time spent as old pals. The laughter and smiles they bring to each other are infectious. This unlikely duo is a true example of what it means for two families to become one.
