What you need to know about the COVID-19 Vaccine

*** PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VACCINE ***

As we near the end of an unprecedented year full of uncertainty and stress, we are happy to be able to share some very exciting news! As you have no doubt heard, trials for a COVID-19 vaccine are currently underway with very promising early results. Gaining access to this vaccine is critical for our most vulnerable population, so we have been following these trials with great interest and hopeful anticipation.

Recently, the CDC unveiled their Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program which will provide end-to-end management of the COVID-19 vaccination process for members, including cold chain management, on-site vaccinations, and fulfillment of reporting requirements. Additionally, long-term care staff could also be vaccinated as part of this program. The Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program provides all of these critical vaccination services free of charge to its members.

We are thrilled to share that we applied for and were accepted as a member of this vital CDC program which means that your loved one (and our staff) will receive priority access to the COVID-19 vaccine once it is available. Each injection of this two-phase vaccine will be administered at precisely timed intervals in the comfort of our community by trained CVS Pharmacy technicians. CVS is an official partner of the CDC’s program so you can rest easy knowing these experts will manage the safe transport and storage of this vaccine which must be kept at below-freezing temperatures to be effective. This incredible benefit is just one of the many ways we continue to make the exceptional care of your loved one our highest priority. Nothing is more important to us than the health and well-being of our beloved residents.

As a reminder, we remain vigilant in the following infection protocols as we await the approval of the vaccine:

    – Mandatory temperature check and health screening of all individuals who enter our community

    – Multiple temperature checks and continuous monitoring of residents and staff throughout the day for any symptoms of illness

    – Continuous disinfection and cleaning of the community, with special attention to high touch/high traffic areas to maintain a healthy environment

    – Staff wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times inside the community – Social distancing as appropriate

Thank you for your continued prayers, love, and support as we navigate the twists and turns of a global pandemic. We know it has not been easy, so we hope this message brings you a glimmer of hope that better days are ahead. We will get through this together, more resilient than ever!

Sincerely,

Mitch Warren

"We liked that it is state of the art, and that it's set up with memory care in mind. The halls are themed so that they don't have to remember much, down to the decorations. They use lighting techniques to keep people on schedule, that helps with sun downing." Henrietta G. - Sugarloaf, TX
