Earlier this month, several representatives from Autumn Leaves attended the Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference in San Diego including regional team members, home office staff, and management from many of our communities. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to spend time sharing ideas, insights, challenges, and successes with the best and brightest in the senior living industry.
Attendees took part in executive roundtables with industry leaders in Human Resources, Culinary, Sales & Marketing, Executive Directors, to name a few, as well as many smaller focused hive discussions, including two dementia specific hives led by Schekesia Meadough, Vice President of Health and Wellness for Autumn Leaves.
There were a number of keynote presentations we attended covering fascinating topics including the role of artificial intelligence and advanced technology in senior living, and three of our Executive Directors also had the opportunity to attend the Executive Director Leadership Institute where they completed curriculum covering mission-critical topics in areas such as operations management, leadership, HR, sales & marketing, clinical oversight, risk management, and more. Congratulations to Eileen Scerbicke (Crystal Lake), David Rasband (Amarillo) and Anne Neelon (Clear Lake) who earned Executive Director Leadership Institute diplomas!
In addition, Autumn Leaves was proud to sponsor an informative presentation and panel discussion featuring Dr. Roy Yaari, Senior Medical Advisor for Eli Lilly, and Jan Dougherty, MS, RN, FAAN and Special Projects Consultant for the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute covering the latest in dementia research and person-centered care techniques. In particular, Jan’s presentation reinforced the importance of a standard of care which is the foundation of our Life Engagement program.
The highlight of the week was watching our very own Emily Horne accept her 2018 Hero Award at the Hero Awards ceremony hosted by Joan Lunden! Click here to learn how Emily strives to improve her residents’ lives each and every day.
Each of us came back with our notebooks full of ideas and inspiration, and we continue working with our teams to share all that we learned! The future is bright for senior living, and we’re honored to be part of the community voice shaping this industry. We are committed to ensuring our seniors will continue to receive the highest quality care they so richly deserve and look forward to implementing new ideas and technology as they emerge.
